Bamboo Dish Brush

Bamboo dish brushes are very good, I have one at home now and it works very well and is easy to use, it makes the dishes clean because it consists of a bamboo handle and bristles made from natural bamboo fibers. There are some of them whose fiber is made from natural plants or plastic, but the handle is made from bamboo because some people don’t like to have bamboo fiber in their brush because it can grow mold if they don’t know how to clean it each time of use.

I have used two bamboo brushes and I did an experiment between them, here is it, every time when I want to wash my dishes I use them both, and after finishing, I clean one with soap and water and let it dry outside or some ventilated place, and the other one I just rinse it with water and let it dry near of my dishwasher basin (my kitchen is not ventilated place) After 15-days of doing this experiment, the result is the one that I put outside to dry nothing happens to it, and another one it grows the mold all around it.

I’m here to show you step-by-step how to clean your bamboo dish brush from my experience with it and the experiment that I do. Let’s give you how to do that now.

How to Clean Bamboo Dish Brush?

Bamboo accessories have one process to clean, I have shared this method too on how to clean bamboo cheese board you can check it also if this method that I will share with you below is not working for you.

  • Each time you use it, you need to rinse it with warm water to remove any food particles or debris that are stuck between the fibers.
  • Once it rinses with water, you need to soak it in the mixture of water and soap too. Bring a bowl of warm water and add a few drops of dish soap to the water and soak it in the solution for 10-15 minutes to loosen any remaining debris.
  • After soaking time, use your finger to scrub the fiber, Be careful not to apply too much pressure because you may damage the fibers. And don’t forget the scrub the handle with a soft sponge too if it gets dirty.
  • After this process, you still have another step is to rinse it with water, bring clean and warm water and rinse it to remove all soap around it.
  • You need to put it in some ventilated place to dry itself before using it again because if you don’t let it dry well it can grow mold quickly because water helps with that.
  • There is another option for you but not each time you clean it, you can do that one time in a week, Here is what to do after you do that and you let it dry you can disinfect it by soaking it in a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar for 30 minutes, Then let it dry again. I have done this process once a week as it helps to keep the brush firm and prevents mildew.

You need to consider doing this process regularly if you want to keep it hygienic and extend its lifespan.
